With Roberto Battiti
A disruptive transformation is underway in the sector, driven by cloud tools to analyze data, build models and identify continuous improvements.
We will give a brief concrete introduction to how intelligent algorithms can change the hotel management of the future, mentioning RoomTetris and Revenue Management.
About the speaker
Roberto Battiti received the M.Sc. Degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Trento in 1985, and the Ph. D. degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 1990.
He is full professor at the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, where he is the director of the LION lab: machine Learning and Intelligent OptimizatioN.
He organizes research initiatives in the area of learning and intelligent optimization (LION) and reactive search optimization (RSO) heuristics. His passion is to use data to build flexible models and extract actionable knowledge (machine learning), to exploit knowledge to automate the discovery of improving solutions (intelligent optimization), to connect insight to decisions and actions.
A recent focus of his research is on the application of learning and intelligent optimization techniques to tourism and hospitality, dealing with issues related to revenue and profit management (optimization of pricing schemes), optimized property management, robonomics, intelligent customer-relationship management, recommendation systems, machine learning and clustering in marketing research.
